Tommy Apostolos Fund Shopping Spree Scheduled for December 3
Please join us for the annual Tommy Apostolos Fund shopping spree on Saturday, December 3, 2011, 5:30 am. We will be shopping for clothes, shoes and other essentials for over 300 Roseville kids in need. Each child will be shopping for $125 in clothing items.

Job Opening: Preschool Teacher (Saint Anna Preschool)
Preschool Teacher: Seeking a mature, nurturing preschool teacher for a three year old class in an Orthodox Christian preschool in Roseville. An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education is required as well as two years of teaching experience in a preschool center. Modesty in dress and overall appearance is a must as the school is in a Christian environment.. Planning age appropriate activities around a thematic based traditional curriculum is also part of the job description as well as light diapering(some of the children are not completely potty trained.) The hours are from 7:00A.M. TO 3:30P.M. HELP NEEDED TO SUPPORT TOMMY APOSTOLOS FUND (The Brent Gove Open)
In order to help the growing need to cloth children in our community more fundraising is needed. The organizers of The Brent Gove Open graciously included the Tommy Apostolos Fund as one of their five charities: Tommy Apostolos Fund, Shoulder-to-Shoulder, International Justice Mission, World Vision and Ultimate Wilderness Adventure. Their goal is to raise a total of $100,000 for the five charities! They’ve already received $1,000 specifically designated to the Tommy Apostolos Fund!!!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE FIRST PLACER COUNTY VETERANS STANDDOWN (September 27-29)
This event will be held on September 27 to 29 at the Roseville Fairgrounds. Stand Down refers to a grassroots, community-based intervention program designed to help the nation’s Active Duty and Veterans. This local event will provide: Shelter throughout event; food; personal care (haircuts, personal care supplies, clothing); picture ID services; health care screening (HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis C, etc.); health care services (actual health care professionals will provide services); eye care; dental care; VA benefits counseling; general benefits counseling (Social Security, Food Stamps, local health and human services); substance abuse counseling/recovery groups; mental health counseling; legal services; employment services (job referrals, employment counseling); housing services (referrals to programs); spiritual services; activities to empower homeless veterans and create a “community” (town meetings, tent leaders, open mike, entertainment, graduation).
