“Buy a Bowl, Feed a Soul”

by Rev Fr Chris Flesoras on Oct 09, 2011 » 0 Comments

The Saint Vincent de Paul in Roseville, feeds in excess of 120 nutritious meals each day to folks in need. As with other programs, their program has been the victim of financial cuts and it is becoming increasingly more difficult to continue.

Through the graciousness of Sierra College, generosity of a variety of restaurants, assistance of our church youth, and countless other volunteers, there will be a event on November 13th to benefit SVdP, “Buy a Bowl, Feed a Soul.”  Hand thrown pottery bowls will be available for you to purchase for a $20 donation. You will then be able to partake of soup(in your new bowl), salad, bread, and a beverage. Desserts will be sold separately. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to our local SVdP in the form of food to stock their kitchen freezers and cupboards.

Forty Days for Life

by Rev Fr Chris Flesoras on Sep 23, 2011 » 0 Comments

The fall 40 Days for Life begins September 28th in hundreds of cities across the nation and around the world! This life-saving, peaceful, prayerful ministry is endorsed by Bishop Soto and all Catholics are encouraged to participate!  Our fall vigil will be at the public sidewalk in front of the abortion businesses at 1750 Wright Street, near the corner of Wright Street and Alta Arden.  Christians will be praying there and offering assistance to women, Monday-Saturday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, from September 28th to November 6th.  By God’s grace and through the power of prayer, over 4,300 women have changed their mind, choosing LIFE for their children, rather than have their abortion, due to people just like you praying at the Sidewalk!  Please join us in this life-saving, compassionate ministry!  Call Wynette at 916-955-1577 or see http://www.40daysforlife.com/sacramento for more information.
