Youth and Young Adult Ministries
Acolyte Program
We are blessed with a great number of dedicated young men who faithfully serve their Lord in the Sanctuary for Divine Services. Acolytes are to arrive early for services, appropriately dressed, with the proper attitudes, having prepared to receive the Eucharist through fasting, a sustained prayer-life and through participation in the Mystery of Confession. They are to maintain respect for and attentiveness to clergy as well as their peers, remaining focused in prayer, ideally as though it were either the first time serving in Holy Altar or their last.
For more information about our Acolyte Program, please contact the Parish clergy, frchris@saintanna.org.
Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF)
The goal of OCF is to keep college students connected and involved with the Orthodox Church and the Orthodox family by providing the opportunity to discuss issues and topics of interest, to interact with fellow Orthodox Christians, and to participate and pray in various worship services. This ministry is extended to all our college-aged students in the Sacramento area and meets regularly at the University of California, Davis.

Saint John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival
This Archdiocesan-sponsored Festival is scheduled annually to help students learn more about their faith and Orthodox Tradition and to allow them the opportunity to share what the-y learn with others. Students in two divisions, grades 7-9 and grades 10-12, prepare speeches with the help of their Religious Educators as well as our Youth and Young Adult Director for the parish, region, Metropolis and then, if selected by judges, the Archdiocese festivals.

Religious Education
“Grow in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18). Our Religious Education Program maintains as a primary focus the fulfillment of this Biblical directive. This is achieved by providing study opportunities for the families, all of which are meant to instill the beauty of our Faith as well as the opportunities to live in and experience Christ. Our Youth Religious Education Program in comprised of five classes that nurture our children in the Faith from pre-school through high school. To encourage our families to pray together in Divine Services, the time of classroom instruction for all grades begins following Holy Communion.

Young adults also meet once a month for spiritual discussion or Bible Study. Participants in this ministry are introduced to and involved in Saint Anna ministries, Metropolis, and Archdiocesan ministries.

Youth Ministries
The youth ministries at the Church of Saint Anna center around four elements: Liturgy, Worship, Service and Witnessing. Our parish offers three age appropriate groups for our youngest stewards: HOPE (2nd – 5th Grade) and JOY (6th—8th) and GOYA (9th – 12th Grade) that meet weekly. In addition to their regular meetings and activities at the Parish, are youth participate in regional and seasonal retreats as well as attend our Metropolis Summer Camp Program at St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center.
