Please save the date for our upcoming Missions and Evangelism Conference, June 24–26, 2027, at St. Anna’s in Roseville, California.Taking place the week after Pentecost, the conference will begin at noon on June 24 and conclude at noon on June 26.
Our previous conferences in 2023 and 2025 focused on evangelism. As the Missions and Evangelism Ministry, our work also includes helping new missions take root. In 2027, the conference will place a special emphasis on mission planting and how our parishes can prepare to support it.
As more people come to the Orthodox faith, questions about planting new missions are arising more often. This conference is an opportunity to prepare together, share what we have learned, and consider how our parishes can help bring the life of the Church to more communities.
We would like at least two members from each parish in the Metropolis of San Francisco to attend as ambassadors—learning together, bringing that knowledge home, and helping their parishes prepare for future mission planting.
This conference is for all our parishes, whatever stage of life they are in. Our hope is that, in time, each parish will be ready to become a mother parish, helping establish and nurture a new daughter mission.
Whether your parish is considering starting a mission, expanding its facilities or purchasing a new building, or looking toward mission planting several years from now, we invite you to come and learn. Together, we will explore how missions are planted in our Metropolis and how parishes can prepare to support that work when the time comes.
In the coming months, we will share the conference schedule, main speakers, registration information, and cost.
For now, please mark your calendar and consider attending or identifying at least two people who could represent your parish as ambassadors. We look forward to gathering, learning, and preparing for this important work together.
In Christ,
Kenny Scott
