The Early Church Reading Group is a small study group reading through and discussing various writings of the early Christian Church. If you've been thinking about joining, now is a great time! We're just about to start a new book: The Church History by Eusebius, translated by Paul Meier. This beautiful and powerful book (written in the 300s) covers the first three hundred years of the history of the Church, beginning with Jesus and His Apostles. The author then relates the stories of various Christian teachers and martyrs, relying on both oral traditions and written sources. The whole work culminates in a celebratory homily on the end of the persecution and the beginning of religious freedom for Christians in the Roman Empire!

The group meets weekly on Monday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Currently, we meet on Zoom; there is a link accessible through the calendar on the church website, or we can email it to you directly. If there is enough interest in meeting in person, we can discuss adding that as an option. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Michael Conklin, michael.conklin@jessup.edu, (530) 701-8450.
